2019 EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR REPORT – 28TH DAY OF DECEMBER 2019
OVERVIEW
As we approach the end of this year, I want to thank each one of you for being part of this family. I appreciate your great work, commitment and dedication, which have been integral to Asgaf’s progress and success.
Five years of operating in a sector such as ours that is constantly and rapidly evolving is an achievement that I am particularly proud of – we are honored to be here, and even more so to have done it on the back of our consistent strong values of underwriting discipline and high-quality service.
This was illustrated in our recent results, where our company emerged at the 2019 Nigeria Role Model Award by the African Child Foundation for Excellent and Integrity in Real Estate Business. This achievement is a recognition of our prudent underwriting strategy, great management team and the hard work of our employees. We have made impressive progress in our capital risk management modelling techniques and smoothly transitioned into a new internal organizational structure – all while raising our profile and prominence in the industry.
Also as a contributor the National discussion on the Impact of Real Estate Industry in Nigeria Economy by the EOM Business network on the Sliverbird Television.
All these achievements come against the backdrop of a very difficult year, which saw a competitive trading environment continue to keep pressure on rates, followed by heavy losses from natural catastrophes in the third quarter. Despite this, Asgaf's underwriting teams upheld their focus on quality business and showed their talent in mitigating exposure.
There is still plenty to be achieved in Asgaf’s evolution and I see next year lined up with many successes and great achievements.
The following areas of the company operation is said to be worked upon
FINANCE
The company experienced a huge decline in her finance this year as compared to 2018. With this, the company will like to work more on achieving greater targets to boost our financial strength
MARKETING
There is need to widen our coverage beyond our current network. The company will do more of digital engagements in other to get a targeted audience and enlarge her areas of concentration. How this will be achieved will be communicated to us after the holiday.
CUSTOMER RELATION
We also need to work more on our customer relationship in terms of satisfaction and responsiveness. The rate at which we respond to customers’ requests has to increase and be more impressive.
HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
The company will try as much as possible to improve more on the standard of her management as well as create a more conducive and comfortable working environment.
TO THE STAFFS
I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all their efforts throughout the year. Kindly note that the success of our company is built on the efforts of our employees and in the next year, we have expect many successes. Thank you for the (dedication/loyalty/commitment/ etc.) that each one of you has shown us.
We’ve come through a year that was filled with both challenges and victories. How reassuring it has been to know that we can count on all of you regardless of what faces us.
